Setup Guide

Here is a step by step guide of how to setup your SIGNL device.

or

1. Download desktop application

Download the ZIP folder from the download link either above or at the top right of the page.

Extract this folder wherever you wish and select the DOCK.exe application file and open it. You may also wish to pin it to the taskbar to more easily locate and launch the application going forward.

2. Connect controller

Utilising a USB-C cable, connect SIGNL to your computer via any available USB port.

TIP: Some computers can be temperamental when recognising new devices, especially if not recently rebooted. If the device is not being recognised try restarting the machine.

3. Launch application

Open the SIGNL Dock desktop application so that you are ready to interact with the controller.

4. Select Port

The first dropdown box within the SIGNL Dock application allows you to select the machines COM Port that the controller is connected to.

Currently the application is not capable of automatically discovering the device but this will soon be added in a future version.

5. Wifi details

Once the controllers port status displays as connected you can move onto sending the relevant wifi network details to the device.

All available network SSID's should appear in the dropdown, then you must input the correct password in the box below and select 'SEND'. This will send the updated WIFI data to the device and you should see this reflected by the controller displaying the new WIFI details on screen.

If the controller is able to then successfully connect to the network the light in the top left of the controller's screen will go GREEN and the first page of values will be displayed with the faders moving to their default positions.

6. Button mappings

If the controller is connected to the WIFI, all that is left is to map the faders and two mechanical buttons to whatever OSC addresses and value ranges you wish. There is no limit on ranges either positive or negative and for the addresses a '/' is automatically appended to the start so you need only put the name you want.

The best part is that each set of mapped value lives on a page system. Once you have a page of values and addresses you want, you can select the '+' icon and add more pages to enable the control to map different addresses and ranges to the same fader or button. Meaning a fader can be mapped to an infinite number of different addresses things that can be flicked between by rotation the bottom knob.
